Special Teams are an important part of the game that deserves attention and game planning because of the possibility of explosiveness on any given snap. Just ask Coach Malzahn and the Auburn Tigers how important they were against Alabama in 2013.
#txhsfbchat strives to bring you the best opportunity to learn from coaches around the nation, and this week we were very fortunate to have Coach Riley lead us. Anytime you have an expert in their field willing to share their knowledge, its wise to listen.

Coach Segler did an outstanding job of not only talking about tempo, but producing it during the chat! This was a very fast paced chat with Coach Segler providing insight into the Sam Houston St offensive system and how the offensive line plays a major part in what they want to accomplish.

Coach Mike Collins did a fantastic job of explaining the philosophy behind his 4-2-5 defense at Sam Houston St. The ability to have immediate access to great football minds like Coach Collins and all the coaches who have hosted and participate in the chat each week is one of the great things each week. We are growing and learning from each other in order to improve ourselves.

We all go into each game with a plan. How are we attacking the defense, or how are we stopping their best play. We work long hard hours all week long to prepare ourselves and our team for what each opponent brings to the game. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. The key is having a plan and procedure for the good and the bad. There needs to be organization on the sideline and at halftime to handle every situation in order to be successful.
