Coach Jason Aubry is in his 16th year of coaching high school football, fourteen of which he has been the head coach in three respective programs. Coach Aubry has coached at many different levels in his coaching tenure with his last stop in the Joliet Township School district being his longest. Coach Aubry has been in the Joliet Township District as the head football coach for the past nine years. Four years as the head coach for the combined Joliet Township football program and this is his fifth year as the head coach of the Joliet West Football program where he has orchestrated one of the greatest program turnarounds as he has flipped a toxic, stagnant program into a championship environment. This past season Coach Aubry led the Joliet West Tigers to their first playoff berth in the history of the school and the best record since 1969. Coach Aubry also did this while competing in the Southwest Suburban (Blue) Conference, an 8A school in arguably the best football conference in the state of Illinois.
Before coming to Joliet, Coach Aubry was the head football coach at Johnsburg High School for two years where his 17-5 coaching record put him on the map as one of the top coaches in the state of Illinois. Coach Aubry led the 2004 Skyhawks to their first conference championship and the best record in the history of the school (10-1). Coach Aubry was also named Coach of the Year in the Big Northern Conference in 2004. Johnsburg competed at the 5A level in the IHSA.
Two years prior to going to Johnsburg Coach Aubry was very instrumental in the rise of the 5A Lemont High School football program. Coach Aubry was an assistant coach for the Indians where he tutored the quarterbacks and was the passing game coordinator.
Coach Aubry had his humble start as a head coach right out of college at Streator Woodland High School, a small 1A school in rural Streator, Illinois. Coach Aubry grew this program from 14 football players in 1999 to almost 60 players (more than half the boys in the school) when he left 3 years later in 2002.
No matter what the setting, Coach Jason Aubry invariably feels comfortable using his passion, unwavering set of core values, and outward enthusiasm to inspire and improve those around him.
Coach Aubry will be leading the chat in a discussion on Staff Organization. This will be an excellent topic especially since for many of us, the coaching staff is like a second family.
You can find him @coachaubry and @jwestfootball
