Daric Riley is our guest this week on #txhsfbchat. He is known as one of the best special teams coordinators in college football. Last year at UAB, he was a finalist for the 2014 Special Teams Coach of the Year, with a KOR unit that averaged over 28 yards per return and had 4 touchdowns on the season.
Coach Riley brings 16 years of experience to the chat coaching at Charleston Southern, Fairfield University, Pikeville College, Newberry College, Truman State, Clemson, Jacksonville St, UAB, and now SMU. Coach Riley has experience working with the secondary and special teams.
He became a coach because he wanted to impact the kids he has the opportunity to coach and the game of football. The coaches that have impacted him, and had the biggest influence on his career Todd Knight, the head football coach at Newberry College, and Andre Powell SPT coordinator at Pitt and whom Coach Riley worked with while a GA at Clemson.
